i never got drunk i just got tired i never calmed down i was just too wired staring through the screen into an empty world while the music rocked on with the party girls I got two left feet and a poor world view but i swear someday i'll make it up to you hunters and gatherers sinners and saints alone at the microphone 2 strikes at home plate grinding the gears churning the pulp drink it down quickly in one big gulp I know you're sweet but we're still through i swear someday i'll make it up to you

I want that good morning love x 3 Give it to me baby All the trials we've been through feel like this world is gonna drag us down But when i see you smile i feel brand new and your voice is the only sound I want to hear when I open my eyes I look at you and I realize there's nothing to fear when you are near chorus I wish you knew what i was thinking I wish knew how to say it out loud this heart of mine it gets to sinking when I feel I'm not making you proud I'm fighting each and every day of my life to find a better way going forward Baby hold on to me right now It's gonna work out somehow chorus x2

17 years 17 years mired in the muck taste the salt in my tears gonna make a change because the end it nears 17 years 17 years i'm begging your pardon i'm begging right now did everything i could to keep from breaking that vow temptation was the ox and freedom was the plough i'm begging your pardon i'm begging right now i got me the thirst of a dying man hungry like a wolf and i feed on what i can call out to the spirits and rub your talisman i got me the thirst of a dying man there's a hooded cloaked stranger waiting at the gates try as we might we can't decide our fates we fight but in the end everyone capitulates to the hooded cloaked stranger who is waiting at the gates

The shades are drawn / The nights are dank Your arms are wide /No one to thank The beast in you /Has been unleashed Give your convictions /An early release You be fair / And I'll be square Hold tight to the illusion / That I still care These games we play / Go on too long Think I'll pick up this guitar/And right some wrongs 1000 masters /Servant of none I'm here for the liquor/ And some good clean fun You bent the wire/ Until it snapped You were hot as fire/ But I still felt trapped In a house that burned/ In a haunted keep The bed frame melted/ While we counted sheep And from the dust/An angel rose In a black leather suit/And a rock star pose She hit the circuit/She slayed them all She was born of dreams/ And answered the call From Idaho /To Amsterdam A new messiah/With an all star band She crossed the ocean/She crossed the line She did it all /in 4/4 time She sunk her teeth into that meat/Embers still burning feeling that heat

Over and Out 05:30
you had a hit on the radio seventeen - twenty years ago you take that with you everywhere you go every night is your last show every girl - the one you need to know can't seem to strike that decisive blow you're a rock and roll refugee a victim of your own reality this road ain't for the faint of heart don't bother looking for your fresh start you were at the top of your game you dreamt of flying in a private plane An ego trip that no one could tame -------- You had a wife you had a home You left it all now you're all alone It's time to reap what you have sown Hindsight 2020 guess you might've known But you were blinded by the biz Hangin' out with those doped up kids Take a sip, is what it is You've been outgrown angered by your decisions put together by your divisions left your soul somewhere along that stretch of highway you've been wondering like a child you've been burning like the bible you've been wiggling like a worm hell, there you go again

released March 13, 2021

The release party for Dead Root Revival's first live album was set for Friday March 13th, 2020. When we booked the show for that date, we could never have imagined the events that would soon change our world, and that our concert would be the last one to take place in Kingston for quite some time.

COVID-19 has devastated the world, and how we humans congregate, and engage socially. The absence of live music is particularly saddening for many.

This album is a joyful document of the "before times", and what we hope to get back to one day soon.
